A historic piece of Brazilian sports journalism, directly linked to the Brazilian National Team's campaign in the 1962 World Cup, held in Chile. This insert from O Cruzeiro magazine, dated June 16, 1962, refers to the match between Brazil and Czechoslovakia, which ended in a 0-0 draw, and features the autograph of Pelé, the King of Football. A period record that brings together editorial memory, the history of the National Team, and the signature of one of the greatest names in world sports.
The item gains even more significance by being associated with Brazil's path to its second world championship. Even with Pelé sidelined for part of the competition due to an injury, the team demonstrated its strength and won the title with memorable performances from players like Garrincha and Amarildo. A special piece for collectors of vintage sports publications and autographed memorabilia, preserving a fragment of one of the great achievements of Brazilian football.
Fun Fact: Pelé started the 1962 World Cup by scoring a goal against Mexico, but suffered a muscle injury in the following match, precisely against Czechoslovakia. Unable to play for the rest of the tournament, he followed the victorious campaign of his teammates, who secured Brazil's second consecutive world title.
