Ayrton Senna's victory at the 1987 Detroit GP was one of the greatest demonstrations of his skill on street circuits. That season, the Lotus 99T used a pioneering active suspension, advanced technology for the time that helped the car adapt to track irregularities.
At Silverstone, Senna also delivered a memorable performance by taking his Lotus to 3rd place, sharing the podium with Nigel Mansell, the race winner, and Nelson Piquet, who finished second.
