The clash between Anderson Silva and Yushin Okami had a previous chapter: in 2006, the two had already faced each other at Rumble on the Rock in Hawaii. On that occasion, Okami won by disqualification after Anderson landed an illegal strike while on the ground.
Five years later, at UFC Rio, Anderson Silva defeated Okami by technical knockout in the second round, defending his middleweight title in front of the Brazilian crowd.
